Ok people it is time to get real. Who here sees "RSVP" and has no idea what that means? Or maybe you do and you're thinking, "well I know the host so of course they know I am coming." Actually you might be thinking, RSVP mean's I only have to let someone know if I am NOT coming.
WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG
I think one of my biggest pet peeves is when people you invite to an event and who doesn't RSVP. I always put on every invitation that you "must RSVP by (insert date a week out here)". But that never seems to matter. I swear I could only put on the invitation RSVP and at least half the party will not reach out to the host.
So here is your public service announcement, YOU MUST LET SOMEONE KNOW IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND A PARTY THEY ARE HOSTING.
Just think of everything you are not being counted for; a chair, a plate, drinks, a gift from the host, food, etc. Planning an event for a party of 20 or more it is imperative to let someone know who took enough time out of their day to mail you or email you an invite, to send a text letting them know you can or cannot make the party. . When we are planning an event we typically order furniture rentals so don't you think you will look funny if you arrive and didn't tell anyone you were coming so you have to sit in the kitchen away from everyone? Well I would feel embarrassed that's for sure.
So people please; RSVP means- "répondez, s'il vous plaît," translation "respond please"
I promise not to rant anymore but if you see "RSVP" let the person who is being asked to let them know if your wonderful self can make it to the event. It will make the host not secretly want to kick your chair out from under you and it will save you the time of explaining why you did not RSVP.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from all of you from now on <3
