Pack a bag. Girl About Town is officially the new Rocky Point event planner on the block, and we're booking trips, picnics, proposals, and full weekend chaos in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico.
If you've ever come back from Rocky Point sunburned, hungover, and slightly traumatized by the grocery run on day one, this one's for you.
Why We Picked Rocky Point as Our Next Event Planning Market
Honestly? Our clients made us.
For years, every Scottsdale bachelorette, birthday group, and guys trip has asked some version of the same question: can you do Mexico? The answer was always a polite "not yet." We've been quietly figuring it out ever since.
A few things lined up:
The drive is shorter than a bad first date. Under four hours from Phoenix.
The local planning scene is mostly wedding-focused. Great for weddings, less great if you want a styled beach picnic and someone who knows where to find good agave.
We partnered with a beachfront rental in Las Conchas we'd actually stay at ourselves. (More on that in a minute.)
That was enough for us. We're in.
Rocky Point Event Planning Services We're Now Booking
Same things we do in Scottsdale, now with more vitamin sea.
Beach Picnic Setups
Low tables, layered linens, fresh florals, charcuterie that takes up its own zip code. Sandy Beach, Las Conchas, or Mirador depending on your vibe. We set it up before you arrive and break it down after you leave. You sit, you eat, you take 400 photos.

Fridge Stocking
You send us your list. We have your rental stocked before you cross the border. White claws, oat milk, hangover Gatorade, dinner ingredients you'll definitely cook on Saturday and definitely not on Sunday. No Walmart run, no rental car detour, no fighting over who has to do it.
Here's the thing nobody warns you about: bringing your own food across the border has gotten genuinely annoying. The Lukeville-Sonoyta crossing now has a SENASICA inspection point and a traffic-light declaration system, and meat, fresh produce, dairy, and "homemade or artisanal food products" can all get pulled at inspection. Even if you make it through, you can't bring most of it back. The current 2026 rules are laid out in detail by Puerto Peñasco Mexico.
Bachelorettes and Birthdays
Decor, themed setups, dinner reservations, party boats, transportation, the whole night-out playbook. Run by people who actually live there and know which spots deliver versus which ones are skating on a 2019 Yelp review.

Proposals
Sunset locations, florals, a photographer who won't accidentally appear in the engagement photo. Rocky Point sunsets are basically free emotional content. We handle everything else.
Guys Trips
Same setup as our Scottsdale guys trips. Golf, fishing, nightlife, transportation, GAT Angels available for the groups that want it that way.
Corporate and Group Events
Brand activations, retreats, milestone events. Rocky Point is criminally underrated for offsites. The per-head spend goes further, the views do half your engagement work for you, and nobody's flight gets delayed in Atlanta.
Our Las Conchas Beachfront Rental in Puerto Peñasco

We've got a partner property in Las Conchas, which is the residential beachfront neighborhood (think: actual neighbors, not resort wristbands). Five bedrooms, sleeps up to twelve, steps from the sand, run by a Superhost we trust.
You can book the rental on its own. You can book the rental and let us handle every meal and decor moment. You can do whatever combination feels right. Most groups end up bundling because once you've already booked the house, adding a stocked fridge and a styled welcome dinner is the cheap part of the trip.

What Sets Our Rocky Point Event Planning Apart
We're not the only people who can plan something in Rocky Point. We're the only people who:
Plan everything outside weddings (most planners down there are wedding-only)
Run logistics from the US side in English and execute on the ground in Mexico in Spanish
Have a vetted rental locked in so the property isn't a wildcard
If that sounds like the gap you've been trying to fill, you've found it.
Who's This For
Rocky Point makes sense for groups that look like one of these:
Phoenix and Tucson crews who want a beach trip without a flight
Bachelorettes priced out of Cabo who still want a passport stamp
Guys trips that want fishing, golf, and a beach in one weekend
Couples planning a proposal who want sunsets to do half the work
Companies running offsites who don't want to tell HR about international flight insurance
If you saw yourself in one of those, we should probably talk.

When You Can Book
Right now, for trips starting this summer. Capacity is limited the first few months while we build out our local team, so the waitlist is doing real work here.

Send us a note if your dates are locked and you want a custom quote.
Rocky Point Event Planner FAQ
How far is it from Scottsdale?
About 3.5 to 4 hours by car, depending on how chill the border crossing is feeling that day.
Do I need a passport?
Yes. Real passport or passport card. Don't try to be cute about this one.
Can I book the rental without using your services?
Of course. The rental stands on its own. Planning is an add-on, not a tax.
Is it safe?
Rocky Point is a designated tourist zone with a local economy that runs on US visitors. It's one of the safer beach towns in northern Mexico. Standard travel sense applies. Current US State Department guidance lives at travel.state.gov.
How much?
Depends on group size, services, dates. Picnic setups start at one number, full weekends at another. Tell us what you're thinking and we'll send a real quote within 48 hours.
Okay, Convinced?
We're taking inquiries now for the launch run. Picnic, bachelorette, proposal, corporate retreat, weekend you've been talking about for three group chats and never planned. Whatever it is, we'll handle it the way we handle Scottsdale: real planners, no chaos, full-service start to finish.
