Scottsdale's Best Patios for Happy Hour

by: HappiestHrScottsdale

With an average of 300 days of sunshine a year, Scottsdale is the perfect place to soak up the sun on the best patios the city has to offer! There’s so many options, and who has the time to figure out the best happy hours and perfect patios?

That’s where I’ve got you covered! In no particular order, let me tell you about the best of the best patios to enjoy your happy hour in the Scottsdale/Arcadia area.

Diego Pops

4338 N Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Happy Hour: Daily | 3 PM - 6 PM.

Beer $4, Diego Margarita $5, Wine or Sangria $6, ½ off appetizers

& Taco Monday (Yes, $3 any taco every Monday)

What once was an old pottery store is now a modern mexican restaurant in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. I highly suggest an order of the Brussels Sprout Nachos (perfect starter for groups). If you are in the mood for comfort food, they have great Chicken Tortilla Soup. Diego Pops is very instagramable, but if you’re looking for more photo ops, there is a cute Scottsdale Mural less than a block away. To allow for social distancing, they have expanded their outdoor seating to their parking lot. Now you have even more opportunities to soak up the sun, while sipping on a margarita. For my non-tequila lovers, Diego Pops offers a delicious sangria on happy hour.

The Montauk

4360 N Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Happy Hour: All Day Monday, Tuesday - Friday | 3 PM - 6 PM

$4 Draft Beer, $5 Well Cocktails, $6 House Wine, and an assortment of food

(Current Special: Half off bottles of wine on #winewednesday)

Located right next to Diego Pops, The Montauk not only has a killer patio and great happy hour deals, but also the chance to catch some live music as well. Keep an eye out on their instagram to catch the sets you want, as they post about live music often. As for their deals, I’m particularly in love with their House Potato Chips and Dip & Crispy Rock Shrimp. Although not on their happy hour menu, this place has super fun Punch Bowls for groups of four or more. They are worth every penny!

Olive & Ivy

Happy Hour: Monday - Friday | 3 pm - 6 PM

20% off all alcohol & small plates

With a gorgeous and sprawling Mediterranean-inspired patio, this place is perfect for larger groups. Overlooking the Scottsdale Waterfront, you’re walking distance to the amazing shops, restaurants, and nightlife to enjoy after you have savored both the deals and the view. With this menu, you can’t go wrong. There’s a delicious deal for everyone in your group!

Buck & Rider

4225 E. Camelback Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85018

Happy Hour: Monday - Friday | 3 PM - 7 PM, Saturday & Sunday Open - 7 PM

$9 All Signature Cocktails, $7 House highballs, $7 All Draft Beer, $7.00 LGO Red/White Wines

$2 All Oysters, $2.25 Wild Mexican Shrimp, and $9 Small Bites (Vodoo Fried Rice, Baja Shrimp Ceviche, Steak Tartar, Edna’s Picnic Chicken Snack, Spicy Tuna Roll, Smoked Trout Dip)

Buck & Rider, what's not to love? I know what you may be thinking, seafood in Arizona? - but have no fear, they get fresh shipments flown in daily (Yes, DAILY!) from a number of places (rotating based on shipments). This means you will never get bored here. I’m a big fan of their Oysters (from rotating locations) and Wild Mexican Shrimp. When it comes to their libations, you can’t go wrong with any of their 11 Signature Cocktails. This is at the top of the list for seafood lovers that also enjoy a good deal and great atmosphere. It’s worth the wait, because, if there is one, you’ll be served a cocktail as you wait for your table.

North Italia

Happy Hour: Monday - Friday | 3 PM - 6 PM, All Day Sunday

Red or White - $5 Glass/$16 Bottle, Red Sangria $5 Glass/$20 Pitcher, All Beer $5, Zucca Chips, Bruschetta (Tomato or prosciutto) $6, Italian Meatballs $9, Pizza (Margherita or cacio e pepe) $10, Chef’s Board $12, and Bottle & Board (choice of: pizza, bruschetta or chef’s board & bottle of the featured red or white) $26. Plus 1/2 off bottle of wine on Sunday

Where are the wine lovers at?! I especially enjoy the Arcadia (Phoenix) location, which is tucked away so well you may just drive past it. North Italia has a very relaxing indoor/outdoor atmosphere - meaning a great shaded patio. This spot ranks high on my suggestions for anyone who enjoys wine (especially that Sunday deal) and light Italian food to pair with it. You won’t be able to get enough of their Zucca Chips - they are addicting! They are the perfect starter for while you are waiting for the rest of your party or just need something to hold you over before your meal arrives.

The Porch

4017 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix AZ 85018

Happy Hour: Monday - Friday | 3 PM - 6:15 PM

$5-7 Draft Beer, $7 House Wine, $6 Wells, $10 Big Trouble in Little Shanghai, $9 Jungle Juice and food deals daily (check out my instagram for the latest updates)!

Nothing beats a bar/restaurant with games! It's the perfect place for a day drinking vibe. For cocktails, try their Big Trouble in Little Shanghai, served in a togo container with a fortune cookie - yum! When selecting your food, you can never go wrong with wings or a burger, both of which happen to be a part of their happy hour. In addition to their lovely happy hour drinks, you should also keep an eye out for their daily specials as well. On Friday’s they offer a Giant Mule for $25, one of my favorites and perfect for a group! This is a great place to stop by before a night out, to get a view of the sunset, or to take part in trivia (every Wednesday)! And don’t forget to check out their Instagram to see what kind of lunch deals they are doing.

O.H.S.O. Brewery

4900 E. Indian School Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85018

15681 N Hayden Rd #112, Scottsdale, AZ 85260

$5 Select Appetizers & $10 Select Food Options

Beer Brunch (on weekends) 9 AM - 2 PM

All Entrees included a 10 oz AZ Beer or Monster Mimosa

Beer lovers, now’s your time. I’ve hit up the Phoenix location quite a few times and it never disappoints! It’s the perfect place to soak up the sun and has a top notch atmosphere. Not only is it a great local place to drink and take in views, but there is always the high probability of spotting a puppy at this dog-friendly spot. Don’t want to leave in between happy hours? If you sign up ahead of time, you and up to five of your closest friends can go to O.H.S.O. (Outrageous Homebewer’s Social Post) to learn about beer and even brew your own beer at their Arcadia/Phoenix Location.

Postino

4821 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale, 85251

3939 E. Campbell Ave. Phoenix, 85018

7030 E. Greenway Parkway. Scottsdale, 85254

Happy Hour: $5 glasses of wine & pitchers of beer ‘til 5 pm daily

$25 bottle of wine and bruschetta board (Monday & Tuesday after 8 pm)

If you haven't checked out Postino yet, you are missing out! Postino has one of the best off-happy hour deals I can find in the area. Take advantage of the 5 ‘til 5. That means only $5 for ANY glass of wine OR ANY pitcher of beer before 5 pm DAILY (hi Saturday & Sunday, we didn’t forget about you!). Miss 5 ‘til 5? Bottle & Board is a must and can easily be split if you aren't too hungry. With bruschetta to die for, I literally can't pick one I wouldn’t suggest! Want to take some of the Postino fun home? Check out the Lucky 7 before you head out! They select seven different wines (each location has a different list) and offer these bottles to-go for $15 each.

From The Rooftop

222 E Portland St, Phoenix, AZ 85004

Happy Hour: ALL DAY Wednesday & Thursday, Friday | 4 PM - 7 PM

**Open to non-hotel guests Thursday - Sunday**

1/2 priced food

This place gives me life! Live music, great drinks, even better views, and now half-priced food. I can’t think of anything they are lacking here and I try to make it here every week. The ambience is very laid back -Think Sunday Funday meets Vegas meets rooftop energy. Hand me a mimosa! Every corner of this picturesque place cannot be beat. If you find yourself at From the Rooftop on the first Friday of the month, Downtown Phoenix does a late night art show you can easily walk/bike/uber to from this rooftop party (google ‘First Friday Phoenix’ for more information).

The Vig

10199 E Bell Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85260

7345 N Via Paseo Del Sur. Scottsdale, AZ 85258

4041 N 40th St. Phoenix, AZ 85018

6015 16th St. Phoenix, AZ 85014

Happy Hour: Monday - Friday | 11 AM - 6 PM

$2 off ALL Beer, Vigniture Cocktails & Well Mixed Drinks, $7 - $10 Select Wine, $5 Pork Tacos, $6 Genuine Cheese Sliders, $5 Blistered Shishito Peppers, $28 Chefs Board & a Bottle

I have yet to make it to all locations but my personal favorite is the one on 40th street. Love the vibe and their happy hour menu of course! This is a great place if you are looking for another chance to hear some live music. Any deal on wine and snacks are a must, plus they offer great shareables for the table. This location also offers fun games (i.e. cornhole/bags). Pictured above is their Blood Orange Margarita, super delicious!

All recommendations come equipped with one or more of the following; great drinks, yummy food, heater, misters or cooling fans. Please make sure to make a reservation as most restaurants require it (especially with larger groups).

Please Note: Happy Hour menu/time can change due to COVID-19; all are up to date as of February 2021.

Cheers!
