Scottsdale Girls Trip: How to Plan It (From a Local Planner)

A Scottsdale girls trip doesn't need a bride, a theme, or a matching sash. It needs your favorite people, a pool, and someone willing to make the reservations so the group chat doesn't spiral. We've planned 2,000+ events in Scottsdale since 2018, and plenty of them were just friends who wanted a great weekend together.

Here's how we'd plan yours: when to go, where to stay, what to do, and the little moves that make a weekend feel easy instead of exhausting.

Want someone else to be the group chat planner? Hand us the whole weekend.

Scottsdale Girls Trip

Scottsdale works for almost any group because everything is close. Pool days, desert views, great brunch and Old Town Scottsdale nightlife are all a short ride apart, so nobody spends the weekend in a car.

Who a Scottsdale Girls Weekend Is Perfect For

Honestly? Anyone. A Scottsdale girls weekend is a great fit for:

  • Milestone birthdays. 30th, 40th, 50th, or "I just want a cake and a cabana."

  • Friend reunions. College roommates, high school besties, the old work crew.

  • Moms' weekends off. No car seats, no snack duty.

  • New chapter trips. New job, new city, new you.

  • Just because. The best reason, if we're being honest.

We plan all of these the same way we plan a bachelorette, minus the veil. If someone's turning a big number, our birthday weekend planning team can build the whole celebration around her.

When to Plan a Girls Trip to Scottsdale

  • January to April: Peak season. Perfect pool weather, and Spring Training fills town in February and March. The tradeoff is price, so book stays and dinners early.

  • October to December: Warm days, cooler nights, and better rates. Pools are still very much open in October.

  • May to September: The cheapest stretch, but it's hot. Plan around the pool, the spa, and dinner after sunset.

Where to Stay for a Girls Trip in Scottsdale

Your group size decides this more than anything.

Resorts

Resorts are best for smaller groups that want room service and zero cleanup.

  • Hotel Valley Ho: Retro, fun, and walkable to Old Town. The tradeoff: it's a scene, so it's not the place for a quiet reset.

  • Mountain Shadows: Modern, relaxed, and right under Camelback in Paradise Valley. The tradeoff: you'll ride into Old Town for nights out.

  • Sanctuary Camelback Mountain: Views for days and a strong spa. The tradeoff: it's on the splurge end.

  • JW Marriott Camelback Inn: Classic Scottsdale with a big spa and plenty of pool space. The tradeoff: it's spread out, so expect some walking.

Vacation Rentals

For groups of six or more, we usually point people to a house. You get a private pool, space to spread out, and a kitchen for a stay-in night. Our partners at Home Team Luxury Rentals have group-friendly homes, and Travli takes 10% off with code GAT10.

One move we always make: fill the fridge before you land. Walking into a stocked kitchen sets the tone for the whole trip.

Getting Around on a Trip to Scottsdale

  • Old Town is walkable. Stay close and you can skip the car most nights.

  • Rideshare covers the rest. Expect surge pricing on peak weekends, especially at bar close.

  • Try a Waymo. Self-driving rides cover Old Town, much of Scottsdale, and the airport, which most cities can't offer yet. The tradeoff: each car fits about four people, so bigger groups split up.

  • Rent a car only if you need it. A rental car earns its spot for a Sedona day trip or sunrise hikes. Otherwise it just sits in the driveway.

  • Let the ride be the party. We book party bikes and party buses so nobody has to drive.

Things to Do on a Scottsdale Girls Trip

Pick one anchor activity per day and leave room for the pool. Here's how we'd mix it up by vibe.

Pool Day and Spa Day

  • Private yoga at the rental. We book instructors who come to you, so the morning starts slow and nobody has to find parking.

  • Day club cabana. A reserved cabana means shade, service, and no 8am towel wars.

  • Private spa lounge. Our private spa party with Skin Charm in Old Town gives your group spa treatments, snacks, and a room that's all yours.

Desert Adventure

  • Jeep tour of the Sonoran Desert. We book desert jeep tours, and it's the easiest way to see real saguaros without hiking in the heat.

  • Sunrise hike. Camelback Mountain if your group is fit and competitive, Pinnacle Peak if you want views without the suffering.

For more ideas, Experience Scottsdale has a solid girls getaway itinerary.

Food and Drinks

  • Brunch: Hash Kitchen is a group favorite for its build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Book ahead on weekends.

  • One nice dinner: Make the reservation the moment your dates are set. Peak season fills fast, and we can book it for you.

  • Old Town Scottsdale nights: Start with our list of the best bars in Scottsdale and pick a lane: cocktails, dancing, or dive bar karaoke.

Stay-In Night

This is our favorite move. Instead of a third night out, bring dinner to the house. A private chef or a hibachi night at the rental means great food, no dress code, and no one waiting on a rideshare at 1am.

Golf, Breweries and Party Bikes

For groups that want to move: we book golf tee times, brewery stops, and party bikes.

A Day Trip to Sedona From Scottsdale

Sedona is about two hours north. Think red rocks, wine tasting, and shopping, with time to be back in Scottsdale for dinner. The tradeoff: it eats a full day, so it only makes sense on a trip of three nights or more.

A Sample Scottsdale Girls Weekend

  • Friday: Land, check into a stocked house, pool time, casual dinner in Old Town.

  • Saturday: Morning yoga, brunch, spa or cabana afternoon, big night out.

  • Sunday: Desert jeep tour or slow pool morning, private chef dinner at the house.

  • Monday: Brunch and the airport.

What We've Learned Planning Girls Trips

The trips people remember aren't the ones with the most on the schedule. They're the ones where nobody was stressed. That's why we stock the fridge before anyone lands, and why we push for one night in with a private chef. By night three, your group will thank you for not making them put on heels again.

How to Plan a Girls Trip Without Losing the Group Chat

  • Pick dates first. Everything else gets easier once the calendar is locked.

  • Say the budget out loud. Before anyone books anything. It saves feelings later, and our tips for a trip on a budget work for any group.

  • One person holds the money. Deposits get messy fast.

  • Book dinners early. Especially January through April.

  • Plan one anchor per day. Leave the rest open for the pool.

Or skip the spreadsheet entirely. Our Scottsdale event planner team handles stays, reservations, decor, and everything in between.

Scottsdale Girls Trip FAQ

What is the best resort in Scottsdale for a girls trip?

It depends on your vibe. Hotel Valley Ho is best if you want to walk to Old Town. Sanctuary Camelback or the JW Marriott Camelback Inn are better for a spa-heavy weekend.

What is the best place in Arizona for a girls' weekend?

Scottsdale, with Sedona as an easy day trip. If your group wants a beach, Rocky Point is about four hours away and we plan trips there too.

Where do you fly into for a Scottsdale girls trip? Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX). It's about 20 minutes from Old Town Scottsdale, and Waymo picks up right at the airport.

What are some hidden gems in Scottsdale?

A sunrise jeep tour in the Sonoran Desert, a private spa lounge in Old Town, and a stay-in chef night at your rental. None of them show up on the usual top 10 lists.

What should I pack for a Scottsdale girls trip? Sunscreen, a hat, two swimsuits, real shoes for a hike, and a light layer. Desert nights cool off fast outside of summer.

How many days do you need for a Scottsdale girls trip?

Three nights is the sweet spot. Add a fourth if you want the Sedona day trip.

Can you hire a planner for a girls trip that isn't a bachelorette?

Yes. Anyone can book us for a birthday, a reunion, or a just-because weekend.

Ready to stop being the group chat planner? Tell us about your trip and we'll build the weekend.
